Monumental Soundbyte - 14

Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal

I will declare that there will be more than one Michael Jackson song featured on this series 'cos - well its Michael. I really hope to be able to see this man perform live (WWL please come through oh)....

Monumental song, monumental video from a man that is super talented, mega creative and a perfectionist to boot. At this point, i still had a crush on him. His hair was longer and he was still caramel colored and those cheekbones. *Sigh*

What i love about listening to songs as a child and then listening to them again now is the fact that i get so much. Why on earth did i think that Michael was talking to someone called Eddie and couldnt understand the song? I lived for the video. Now i know that this song is about ANNIE and the gangstars that break into her place. LOL.

As a bonafide MJ fan (yes i had tons of posters which i used to kiss and a sparkly jacket that i never got to wear outside my house), i also owned the movie Moonwalker that i watched over and over again. My parents encouraged my love for MJ and Whitney Houston since they figured they were safe, wholesome and positive role models to have. Emmm....fastforward and well......LOL

Anyway, this song was the highlight of the movie Moonwalker - with MJ in that white suit complete with hat and that infamous dance move where he tilts forward. That move is called the anti-gravity lean and believe it or not, has been patented by MJ. I think i might still be a little bit obsessed with this man(?)...Shucks...M getting hot just thinking about it....Someone please send me the youtube link for this song...

For those that dont know, Carrie's Mr Big (in Sex and the City) is not the original one. In Moonwalker, there is a bad man called Mr Big played by Joe Pesci i think.

I think i should stop now because there are so many random facts about this song that i just want to throw in. Nothing else needs to be said. Enjoy!

I love MJ.

I saw my older brother over the weekend and he was reminding me that I cried and cried and cried and begged my Mummy to buy me the Thriller video when I was much younger... ofcourse she got it for me.

Then I had 'Remember the time'(extended version) on video as well.

I really like this but there are about 10 MJ songs that come before this one for me.

I remember Moonwalker, I think I watched the movie at least 100 times! Very cool moves...

eddie huh? razzo! seriously though good looking out, this is one of the better mj songs, and sometimes that video moves above thriller in my estimation. Relax i still think Billie Jean is his best video. Anyway laters.
