Repost: Very bad hair day

These locks of mine.....

My hair started showing signs of acting like a truant child. But with a hair brush and some leave in conditioner, i made my locks behave somewhat. I think my hair got mad at me for the torture inflicted yesterday. Overnight, my locks had a meeting and decided to give me hell and make me pay.

This morning, i untied my scarf and my locks seemed harmless enough. Out came the comb and brush and i swear i saw some slight movement and felt a shiver go down my spine. . Okay so i just felt like typing that. Anyway, i combed my hair back. Step number one completed. Time to part the hair. That's when it became harrowing. I couldnt get a straight line. Okay. I managed with a curvy sort of line and then the leave in conditioner came out for a gentle spritz. My hair began to resist the efforts of the conditioner. My hair just refused to lie down. I used my little claw thingy to put it up and my hair was just falling over the place.

Oh for the love of .....Ah Ah. I ended up brushing the hair very severly and pulling it into a ponytail. Didnt look quite right either. So i tucked the ponytail under into a sort of bun like looking thing.

Drove to work. Came into the office. Brought out my powder compact and i couldnt believe it. My hair was swollen. I mean literally. It was bone straight and flat as paper when i left the house. So why was it rising? Looking like some afro puffs corralled into a knot. Out came the brush and and attempt to calm it down. Some sort of success but there are some tufts of my hair sticking out at the back. What kind of nonsense is this?

This would be one of the days that chopping all my hair off seems like a mighty fine option. Sheesh! I actually am pretty close to tears. Of frustration. I have 2 meetings today with clients and i will be looking like a golliwog.

GOLLIWOG!!!! LOL! When did I hear that last??? Ages ago!

Pele, I feel your pain. I don't have a haircut but sometimes, my hair does whatever it wants! I wrap it and when I wake up the next morning, it just refuses to stay down! Some parts stick out and then I am forced to pack it and that doesn't look right either cos some hair sticks out at the back.

Uzo, I am sure you will sort something out... I trust you :-)

Pele.

Your hair might be charged -- that is, if each strand has the same static electric charge, it'll stay as far away as possible from others similarly charged. Sometimes the entire head of hair stands straight up.

I don't know how to deal with it, actually -- never had it but I've seen people who have. I think it usually just goes away.

Where did I see the word golliwog? Enid Blyton?

Loll - bad hair days. Bane of every woman's existence!

I have to sometimes threaten to shave it all off if it doesn't behave ;-)

But I've gotten soo used to not having great hair that I dont send. Most of the time, my hair is just ... blah! When it looks really good, that's an added bonus.

LMAO!!!!!!! Dang why am I so thankful that whenever I cut that hair I look wonderful?

I feel you but I dont know what to say than use some scarve on that hair to put it in check. Dont tell me how many millions it cost the stylist to do it...Abegi just let the hair be!

Have a wonderful Weekend, bad=hair free!!

This was before you got your haircut right???

So, I was right... you sorted it out! ;-)

Azuka, yeah I saw that word in Enid Blyton books. I read a book called The Three Golliwogs!

My hair pretty much stays in place except for this lock of strands, whenever I part my hair, this lock just stands still, yes, as in, I feel like Alpha-aplha, my bfriend makes fun of me, cos some of my hair is forever standing still, lol, pressing it down helps for about 5 secs, then its back 2 standing still, its a lil shorter compared 2 d rest of my hair, so that might b d issue, pele I feel ur pain!
