A Loss in the Music Industry

Ike Turner died yesterday at the age of 76. Many people know him as the abusive ex-husband of Tina Turner played to perfection by Lawrence Fishburne in What's Love Got To Do With It.
What few people know is the genius and talent of Ike Turner. This man had music flowing from his veins and is/was one of the greatest guitarists ever. He played a number of instruments including the piano (i believe he played on the Gorillaz album) but his personal life overshadowed to a large degree his talent and stumped his success.
I am sure a lot of us are familiar with the abuse he meted out on Tina. He went on to face drugs and weapons charges. It is claimed that Ike has been married 14 times but what public record shows is 4. In fact Ike was in prison on those drug and weapon charges when he and Tina were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. Tina accepted the award on his behalf.
I never approved of his personal life and his antics but his talent i could not deny.
Rest in Peace!

R.I.P. Ike Turner.

Just watched a 'Martin' episode where they made fun of his failings. Its a pity he allowed those things to overshadow his talent.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this one. Any man that abuses a woman is an a****** and doesn't deserve any respect. Just because he's a decent guitar player, doesn't change anything.
